The table was beautiful as you can see from the plates and the table ornaments.
Starter
Souffle Suissesse (Cheese Souffle cooked on Double Cream.)
I had heard a lot about this soufflé, and the waiter recommended it too. It was delicious. It was cooked very well so it had a wonderful soufflé texture, but packed with flavour. It was quite large and very rich so by the end it did feel a little heavy for a starter.
Main
Rable de Lapin et Galette au Parmesan ( Roast Saddle of Rabbit with Crispy Potatoes and Parmesan.)
I really like rabbit, and this did not disappoint. The rabbit was very succulent and I liked the crispy potatoes. The Parmesan crisp at the top was nice, but after the cheese soufflé starter, I felt that I had had too much cheese, but that was due to my ordering rather than a problem with the dish.
Dessert
L'Assiette du Chef
For me the highlight was the dessert course. I went for the dessert platter and it was amazing! My favourite one was the chocolate truffle one, with a caramelised nut and gold leaf. For me the rum baba had a bit too much rum so I was not so keen on it. The rest was perfect.
Favours
Delicious favours. I like the tuiles and caramelised
Quality & Presentation of the Food
The quality of the food is excellent. Lovely flavours, which are carefully balanced. Wonderful textures adds further depth to the dishes. The portion sizes are very generous.
The presentation is superb, wonderful attention to detail, but that's what you get from a Michelin starred restaurant. The restaurant marries great food, theatre and presentation brilliantly. In my opinion one of the few to achieve this.
Service & Ambience
The service was excellent. The waiters were very informative, and not intrusive in their service. We did not feel rushed and certainly felt well looked-after. You were made to feel special.
I really liked the ambience of the restaurant, it is intimate and I felt it was a great romantic setting. The table decorations and paintings on the wall were lovely. The personalised hand towels in the bathroom was a nice touch.
Value for Money
For 3 courses and a couple glasses of wine the bill came to £120. I felt that the meal was worth every penny. I would like to return for a special occasion.
